The Mayan

For my little brothers birthday the whole family went to the Mayan restaurant to celebrate. The mayan has gotten way better since I last went. They have done a good job in making it better. Teagen was a biker..doesn't he look kinda like a crazy biker in this picture. LOL. My little brother was Link from the Zelda video game. My grandma in Arizona made his costume and shipped it to him..She is amazing. My mom painted the sheild just like in the game. The costume looked awesome.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAEDY!!

Halloween

For halloween my work decided to all dress up as characters from the new Toy Story 3 movie. Everyone got the good characters by the time I came to work next so I could have chose the lots of luv huggin bear. However, I chose to do the troll. Yes that is my hair.. all of it. They cute girl that does my hair did this for me. I risked my hair being purple for real and I didn't even win anything in the contest. Figures! I wanted to let all those that were worried about the color coming out (including myself) that it did. It took 3 shampooings to get all the hair glue and dye out. It was pretty funny when I couldn't fit in my car and I kept hitting my hair on the x-ray tube when I was doing an x-ray. Oh the things we do for Halloween!

Pumkin Carving Contest

Oh yes it's halloween time and yes we must carve pumkins! My moms birthday was on October 23rd and for her birthday she wanted to get together and carve pumpkins. I was way excited about it because Randy doesn't like doing that stuff with just him and I. We created some pretty good carvings if I do say so myself.
To make the night even better Lindsay brought some pumpkin flavored egg nog..lets just say we were excited!!
Teagen loved the pumpkins. He would eat the leftover pumpkin stuff. It was funny. As the night went on Teagan started out with clothes and then well..he slowly ended up with none. Those pictures were a little too risque for this blog.

After every one was done we all voted for whose was best and low and behold...it should have been mine. Lets just leave it at that.

All and all I would say the night was a success.

Witches Night Out

My family and I went to Witches Night Out this year. It is this night of shopping that Gardner Village puts on every year in October. So everyone dresses up as a witch and goes shopping. It seems so lame but in fact is one of the best nights all year!!

We also saw some other crazy witches up there that we knew. It must run in the family. :) It was fun to see the Davidsons in their cute costumes. Pam you are hillarious!
It gets a little crazy at witches night out and we aren't even close to the craziest witches that go!

I didn't even really buy anything up there this year. I had to get randy the neopoliton taffy from the candy store. They had pumkin flavored fudge this year...Yum!!

So Randy gave me some of his spiff money from work to get something fun (he's the best) and all I had gotten was a cute beanie and a lot of candy. Then the last store we went into was the quilt shop..love their quilts..and they had all this cute jewelry for like $2-3 a peice. So we spent some money there. So don't worry Randy's money definately got spent. LOL.

One of the best things about this night is seeing the ladies that have being going to this for years, their costumes are so awesome. This one lady had painted spiders on her face and one looked like it was coming out of her mouth Yuck! There are also carved pumkins and prizes and food. Its the one night of the year that it's ok to act like a true witch! My mom and sister got to come this year. It was their first year and I don't think that it will be their last. I just can't wait to go again next year.

Family Photos

It was time for family photos for the Brown family. Once every four years is about right. I think we got some cute pictures. It was tough to get everyone smiling..especially the boys because they don't really understand how to take pictures. Maybe after a few more years they will get how it's done. LOL.

Ultrasound Boards

Ultrasound is the single longest specialty for radiology. It takes the most time to learn and the longest time to be good at it. I'm talking years to be good. (I ask myself all the time why I picked the most difficult, Maybe I'm crazy) Now most of the other modalities only have one official board test to take and pass to become an official professional in that field. However, ultrasound once again wants to be different. To become a Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographer you must take not one test but two really gruesome board certified tests. One of the tests you must pass is the physics boards. The other can either be over the abdomen or OB/GYN. So I just want all of you to understand why I haven't blogged for the last bit. Also I want to post that in August I passed my physics boards. So one down and one to go!! Hopefully I will take my OB/GYN test in December and be certified.

Summer Time

So this year has been kind of been a crazy one. With school and work I haven't had time to update this blog of mine. From now on I will try to be better and update it more. I will fill you in on all the stuff we have been doing for the last little while. For starters school has been the number one on my list.

The first 6 months of this year were the worst of my life. I had school work and 24 hour clinicals to do every week. Randy was pretty much single for the first of this year...Poor guy. By the end of the spring semester I wasn't sleeping because after studying for 8 hours every day my mind wouldnn't shut off, weird huh? So I had to take a sleeping pill for sleep and an anti-anxiety medication for all the stress. But after that things cooled down. We got to do some fun things this summer however. Randy's cousin got married this summer in Texas and we got to go. It was so HUMID I don't ever want to live in that weather. Wow you Thorpes are crazy. But the wedding was so nice and the weather cooled down just in time for the reception. It was so fun to see the fam and enjoy some time not studying. LOL.
